New Year, New Look: Jason's Hair Loss Restoration Journey

Hair loss runs in Jason’s family and by the time he was in his mid-twenties, his hair began thinning. Hair loss affected Jason in ways that are all too familiar to people experiencing hair loss. He felt less confident and more insecure about his appearance especially when he would see himself in his old photos, sporting a full head of hair. He even began to wear bandannas to cover his bald spots.
Jason decided enough was enough and chose to replace his hair with SensiGraft. SensiGraft is a state-of -the-art hair replacement solution for men. Sensigraft is permanent hair designed to suit your expectations and give you the natural look you’re striving for.
Now, Jason loves his results! “If I’m going to get hair it must look good, and I was blown away by my new hair!” Jason looks and feels more confident than ever before. You can too, when you choose to restore your hair.

The Past, Present and Future of Hair Restoration

The science and technology of solving the problem of hair loss has come a long way, since its origins, many centuries ago. Now there are many reliable methods of restoring your hair, so hair loss sufferers don't have to rely on snake oil or bizarre experiments.

The earliest historical record of a treatment for hair loss dates back to 1533 B.C., from the Egyptians, and details an ingestible cure consisting of onions, honey, red lead, iron oxide, alabaster and the fat of various animals. Once the patient consumed the potion, he or she would recite a verse and summon the Sun God to increase the cure’s effect.

Potions, elixirs and clever comb-overs remained the public's best option for a chance at preventing hair loss and growing new hair for several years, then in 1624, wigs were introduced. King Louis XIII wore them to cover up his thinning hair. This triggered a trend in France among its members of the court, who then began wearing large powdered wigs. These wigs eventually became a sign of power and importance and the fad transcended to England shortly thereafter.
During the turn of the 20th century, a device called the Evans Vacuum Cap introduced to the hair loss community a suction hat-like device that worked to recirculate stagnant blood flow in a similar fashion as a vacuum.

The 1980's were all about HAIR! If you didn't have it, you wanted it and big was beautiful. The desire to grow one's own hair back led to advancements in both hair transplants and topical treatments. Unfortunately, the science of hair transplants had not yet been perfected and it led to a lot of bad experiences with hair plugs, which could give the recipient a doll-like appearance. Toupees also became popular, but were often cheaply made and unconvincing.

Today, in modern times, science has not only brought us new hair loss treatments but also advancement in hair transplant procedures. Individual hairs are now able to be harvested and hair is restored into thinning areas. Great skill is used when matching the patients' natural growth patterns, allowing for natural results ever. A popular hair transplant procedure now is called NeoGraft®, and is offered at IHRS. This modern procedure involves no scalpel incision, no linear scarring, and only zero to minor discomfort, immediately post procedure.

In terms of hair replacement, wigs and toupees are officially a thing of the past. Products like Sensigraft™ and Reallusions® involve the highest quality human or synthetic hair, depending on what the client chooses, and are grafted onto the client's scalp with second skin-like membrane, allowing for the most natural and undetectable results.
